Girvan Academy has been given a clean bill of health following a visit from HM Inspectors.Education Scotland, the agency responsible for supporting quality and improvement in Scottish education, graded the school as ‘good’ across two quality indicators.
It follows a visit to the school in December, with the results of the inspection now made public.Among the key findings, the inspectors said there was “strong leadership” of the headteacher, who was “well supported” by leaders at all levels.
This, they said, resulted in a “positive culture” of learning across the school, including in the support and wellbeing department.In addition there was a “comprehensive, effective system” for tracking young people’s progress in all curriculum areas from S1 to S6.
