An East Lothian mum whose baby was sick claims she had to phone her GP 650 times to try to get an appointment - only for her to be told to try again tomorrow.

Leah Cullen, from Musselburgh was attempting to get through to Riverside Medical Practice on behalf of her son, 10-month-old Caleb.

The 23-year-old had already taken her little boy to the GP's the previous month, and was given cream for a skin condition.Leah was worried because she didn't think they cream had worked so wanted to get him seen again.

She told Edinburgh Live despite phoning around 650 times, she failed to get an appointment. The young mum said: "It is so upsetting, every single time I try to get through to Riverside it takes a minimum of 100 calls to get an answer, and the majority of the time you are then told that all the appointments are gone."I told them that I had phoned 650 times, and that I was trying to get an appointment for a sick baby, but they didn't seem interested.
