A group of residents are set to protest against the extension of Hough End Leisure Centre. The demonstrators are set to congregate during Manchester council’s planning committee tomorrow (Thursday, March 17).

The group will gather outside the town hall extension and will call upon Manchester city council’s planning committee to reject the plans to expand the leisure centre into the playing fields on Princess Road.

The group, Save Hough End Fields, are protesting the plans to build an extension to the leisure centre, two artificial pitches and 127 extra car parking spaces at Hough End fields.

They, and other residents from the Withington area, will meet tomorrow outside the Manchester town hall extension at 1.30pm.
