Sarah Ferguson is more used to writing children’s books but is set to publish her first novel with Mills & Boon. The publisher more usually associated with racy novels is backing her new book called Her Heart for A Compass It is a fictional account of the life of the Duchess’ great-great-aunt, Lady Margaret Montagu Douglas Scott.
The Duchess of York, 61, described her new novel as an ‘immersive historical saga’ that ‘sweeps the reader from the drawing rooms of Victoria’s court and the grand country houses of Scotland and Ireland, to the slums of London and the mercantile bustle of 1870s New York’.
The storyline is a mixture of the Duchess’s own research into Lady Margaret combined with her own unconventional experiences of life as a Royal.
