Sarah Ferguson, 64, has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of skin cancer just six months after undergoing a successful operation to treat breast cancer. The latest health battle to rock the royals comes after Fergie, 64, had several moles removed from her body, one of which tested as a malignant melanoma - the most serious form of skin cancer that can spread to other areas of the body.

Despite being in "good spirits" the Duchess of York has understandably found her second cancer diagnosis within six months "distressing." A spokesman for Sarah, Duchess of York said: "Following her diagnosis with an early form of breast cancer this summer, Sarah, Duchess of York has now been diagnosed with malignant melanoma. "Her dermatologist asked that several moles were removed and analysed at the same time as the Duchess was undergoing reconstructive surgery following her mastectomy, and one of these has been identified as cancerous." The Duchess, who has been recuperating at the MAYRLIFE clinic in Austria which attracts A-list stars and millionaires, over the past few weeks, has now urged Brits to stay alert to the signs of potentially cancerous moles after finding out just after Christmas when dermatologists raised the alarm during her reconstructive breast surgery last year.

The Duchess will undergo further tests to discover if her cancer has spread further but there are high hopes that the mole has been found early enough to avoid further medical problems.
