Sarah Ferguson wants people to take our current "climate emergency" more seriously. A month on from attending King Charles III's spectacular Coronation concert, where the likes of Take That and Lionel Richie banged out some big tunes, the Duchess of York, 63, decided to mark World Environment Day with a special message this week. "We are living through a climate emergency and it's clear to me that not enough is being done about it," she wrote alongside a picture of herself. "We need to get serious about reducing emissions all over the world.

I am determined to use whatever voice I have to speak up for our planet. #worldenvironmentday." Fergie's message was heard loud and clear in the comment column, as one of her followers responded: "We need it, and the World is grateful for your engagement with these important questions." As far as climate change statistics go, National Centers for Environmental Information reported that Europe experienced its warmest January on record this year.

It comes after Fergie exclusively caught up with OK! back in April, having reinvented herself as a bestselling author. "I feel very proud to have embarked on a new career in my sixties," she began. "Not many people get that opportunity.
