A same sex couple have heaped praise on a much-loved golf attraction for welcoming them 'with open arms'. Like many places, Dino Falls Adventure Golf in Trafford, offers a mums go free deal for Mother's Day, which takes place this Sunday, March 19.
But when mums Leonnie and Emma Downes have asked places in the past if they both qualify for such offers, they've been 'met with a cold response' and told only one of them can benefit. "We have found in the past on Mother's Day that when we approach businesses to enquire whether or not both mums would be celebrated and could take part in their special offer for mums, that there would always be a catch," said Emma. "We have only been blessed with one child and unfortunately can't have any more, however most places usually meet us with the response of one free mum per paying child. "We have been called entitled and wanting to have something for nothing, when all we have wanted is for same sex parents to be treated fairly." The 33-year-old, who lives with Leonnie, 31, and George, in Chorley, added: "When we approached Dino Falls, we were expecting the same response, however when we received the amazing response we did, we were thrilled. "It's taken us six years to find somewhere to acknowledge not all same sex parents have more than one child and all we want is to be accepted and celebrated like every other mum.
