S Club singer Jon Lee has opened up about the real reason the band cancelled their tour show after only one night. Fans of the group were looking forward to seeing them perform in Liverpool, but were left raging when S Club cancelled just hours before they were due to take to the stage.

In a statement it was claimed the Don't Stop Moving stars was cancelled due to an "due to an unforeseen technical issue".The freshly reunited group, missing Hannah Spearritt and the late Paul Cattermole, took to the stage on Thursday night in Manchester with their reunion tour.

The group now consists of Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett, Jo O'Meara, Jon Lee and Bradley McIntosh as the musicians paid tribute to their late bandmate Paul, who passed away in April.The Mirror reports that Jon, 41, set the record straight on why they were forced to pull out of their performance as he set the record straight while lying in bed.

He said: "We're so sorry our Liverpool date has been cancelled tonight."There was a fire in the building, which knocked out some of the electrics, which meant it was completely unsafe for us to allow an audience into the arena.
