Former Rangers winger Ryan Kent is set to snub former Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard - with a loan move to Dinamo Zagreb inching closer.

Reports in Turkey had claimed that Kent was set to reunited with the Scottish Premiership title-winning boss and former Ibrox director of football Mark Allen at Al-Ettifaq having endured a nightmare spell at Fenerbahce since leaving Govan as a free agent last summer.

Gerrard was said to have stolen a march on the rivals for deal with Ettifaq stumping up the cash to take Kent and the Istanbul outfit accepting a fee in the region of £3.4million.

However, the winger would have to green light a deal - and he now looks to sensationally knock back the bumper offer in the Middle East in favour of a switch to Croatia.
