Rutherglen Glencairn co-boss Joe Pryce believes his strike force are capable of firing them to promotion glory this season after they blasted four past title favourites Arthurlie on Saturday.Glens moved up to second in the West of Scotland First Division table, in what is a six-way battle for the title with leaders St Roch’s, Renfrew, Petershill, Kilwinning and Arthurlie (who have five games in hand).Just four points separates first from sixth, so it will come down to fine margins in the race for promotion.And after scoring freely against an Arthurlie side who had only conceded eight goals all season until Glens came along on Saturday, Pryce feels his firing frontline could have a big say after they ended a run of seven games without a win in fine fashion.He said: “The back four and the goalkeeper were great, our midfield worked tirelessly and with the strikers we’ve got up top, we know if we give them opportunities they will score.“Jack McIlveen has got two, Scott Jarvie scores, so does Aidan Fitzpatrick and Ryan McManus set up two as well, so we know if we can keep it tight at the back, we can be potent.“It is a really tough place to go and not many teams will go there and win 4-1.“We knew that we had to defend really well against Arthurlie because they have a really potent strike force as well.“Our defence has taken a bit of a hammering over the last couple of weeks but they were excellent on Saturday.“It has been a wee while since we’ve had this feeling.“It is the first time we’ve had competitive fixtures in a row for a while.

It has been stop-start for a while so, hopefully, this run of games will help us to find our rhythm again.”Glens now face 12th-place Maybole this Saturday, with the Ayrshire side visiting
