Ruth Langsford opens up on 'bittersweet' Christmas after sister's tragic death

Loose Woman presenter Ruth Langsford has opened up on her ‘bittersweet’ Christmas as she will be spending another festive season without her beloved sister Julia Johnson and her dad, Dennis.

Ruth’s sister, who battled depression for years, was tragically found dead by her husband Paul at their home when she was just 62 years old, in 2019.The presenter later described the loss of her sister as the “hardest of my life”.

While Ruth admitted to Best Magazine that the festive period can often trigger difficult emotions, she said that Christmas makes her “so happy”.

Ruth also reminisced about her Christmases when she was a child as she would often enjoy the big day in different countries, including Malta and Germany, as her father Dennis was in the army.
