Russian pilots 'intercept' RAF spy plane and jets over Black Sea
dailyrecord.co.ukRussia has reportedlty intercepted an RAF spy plane in an attempt to stop it from breaching the counry's airspace.Moscow has claimed it escorted the reconnaissance aircraft and two accompanying Typhoon fighter jets over the Black Sea on Wednesday.
A map showed the tense exchange as the movements of both aircrafts were traced.The Russian Defence Ministry revealed they successfully blocked the violation from taking place.
A spokesperson claimed that the UK warplanes changed direction once they saw they were being tracked.In a statement, they said: "In order to prevent a violation of the state border of the Russian Federation, a Su-27 fighter from the air defence on-duty force was scrambled.
The crew of the Russian fighter jet identified the aerial targets as an RC-135 strategic reconnaissance aircraft and two Typhoon fighters of the UK Air Force.“As the Russian fighter approached, the foreign warplanes turned away from the Russian state border.
