A former Manchester University student who went missing after a dream trip to Thailand has told his family he is safe. Simon Robinson, 27, was due to fly back to Manchester on July 26, but failed to board the plane at Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok.
His phone was detected in Bangkok, but was switched off with no attempts made to contact friends or family. Following an intense two-week search, he has now been located safe and sound. His sister has now said she received a call from Simon, from Skegness, Lincolnshire, after he missed a connecting flight home.
His sister said that, while he didn't say where he was, she was "relieved to hear his voice", the Mirror reports. She told The Sun today: "Simon rang me and apologised.
