But the pair won't be entering the hot and sunny Australian jungle - instead, they will have to make their way up to the cold, wet and windy Gwrych Castle in North Wales.
Which makes it even more unusual that theatre star Russell would choose to take part this particular year, in comparison to the many previous years he has been asked.
Speaking to the Mirror Online and other news outlets, he said: "I've been asked six times. I got asked at the beginning of this year - and I don't know why this year, I just felt like a different challenge.
