Fiji and Barbarians rugby star Api Ratuniyarawa has appeared at a magistrates court charged with sexual assault. The 37-year-old, from Orchard, Kislingbury in Northampton, is accused of sexually assaulting three women at a Cardiff city centre club at a date between October 31 and November 1.
The Fiji international. was in his country's 2023 Rugby World Cup squad and named on the substitutes bench for today's Wales v Barbarians game.
He has denied sexually assaulting the three women at the nightclub in the early hours of that morning while he was on a night out with fellow Barbarian players, reports Wales Online.
Ratuniyarawa appeared at Cardiff Magsitrate’s court on Saturday morning, November 4, and spoke only to confirm his name. Prosecuting, Michael Evans, told the court how the three alleged incidents happened independently of each other, with the women not known to each other or to Ratuniyarawa before that night.
