There will be plenty of Manchester United players who will hope Ruben Amorim's arrival at Old Trafford can prove to be a catalyst.

But perhaps one player who will feel it more than most is Mason Mount. The midfielder has had a stop-start time with the Reds, with injuries limiting him to just seven league starts since his arrival in the summer of 2023.

The England international is now fit again and has already received a glowing reference from his new boss. "I have to tell you I love that kid," said Amorim this week.

And Mount can also point to experience of playing in Amorim's system, having starred for Chelsea as one of two number 10s under Thomas Tuchel.
