RTÉ has revealed that it will be renaming one of its studios in honour of the late Gerry Ryan. In honour of the 10th anniversary of the broadcaster’s death, a studio will be renamed ‘The Gerry Ryan Studio’.
The announcement was made on Twitter by Maureen Catterson, the Communications Manager at RTÉ. Her tweet read: ‘To mark the 10 year anniversary of Gerry Ryan’s death, @RTE2fm will rename one of the studios ‘The Gerry Ryan Studio’. #RIPGerryRyan.’ The news follows shortly after a documentary about Gerry’s life and career, aptly named Gerry Ryan: A Legacy, aired on RTÉ 2 in his memory.
