Many took to social media to share their surprise at the sighting, with some questioning if the alleged marking of death appearing was a bad sign.
Sharing a video of moment the dark figure appeared in the doorway, one social media user tweeted: "Anyone else just notice the Grim Reaper at Westminster Abbey?"
