Roy Keane brutally mocked the suggestion that Manchester United could sign Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, claiming he turned down a move to 'win some trophies.' The German centre-back is out of contract at Stamford Bridge in the summer and Thomas Tuchel has recently announced Rudiger will be departing the capital upon the expiry of his current deal.

United have shown some interest in a move for the 29-year-old after suffering defensively this season. Captain Harry Maguire has come under fire for his performances at the heart of the United defence, with Keane a regular critic of the England international this season.

The Manchester Evening News understands that a defensive addition is one of the targets this summer with interest in Pau Torres reignited earlier this month.
