Ross McCrorie believes Aberdeen can fly out to Sweden with soaring Europa League confidence – since this squad is better than the one that battered BK Hacken last time. The defender was part of a Stephen Glass side who saw off the Swedes 5-1 at home and 5-3 on aggregate in the Conference League two years ago.
McCrorie was also an invaluable member of Barry Robson’s squad who clinched third spot to line up this play-off shot before winning a big-money move to Bristol City in the summer. The Dons head back to the Bravida Arena for Thursday’s first leg, knowing group stage football in one of the two tournament is a certainty.
But McCrorie reckons his old side can pull off a dream double and book their place in the groups of the bigger one. The 25-year-old said: “I would say our Aberdeen team who beat BK Hacken was a good team but it was inferior to the current side.
I would say the squad and team Barry has just now is a lot stronger. The team did well last season getting third. I know they have lost one or two players but it’s still a strong Aberdeen squad.“I would say this Aberdeen team, physically, is far stronger.
