Ronald Koeman has insisted Lionel Messi "has to finish his career" at Barcelona after discussing the forward with close friend Pep Guardiola.
Messi's future is up in the air after recent developments at Barcelona have left the club in turmoil. Barcelona are not the force they once were under Guardiola's leadership, but Koeman is confident of returning the Catalan giants to their former glory.
Key to that will be keeping Messi at the Nou Camp and Barca's new boss is certainly not preparing for life without the Argentine star. “Messi is a pure winner," Koeman told Dutch media outlet NOS.
