Queen Elizabeth in a doting Instagram post. On February 6, the Queen became the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after serving a whopping 70 years to the people of the UK, the Realms and the Commonwealth.

And on Monday, the Maggie May hitmaker took to his social media handle to celebrate the Queen's incredible milestone in a post that featured a series of sweet snaps of the pair through the years.

For his caption, the father-of-eight gushed: "The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Year has officially started. "She's been a wonderful example of how to conduct yourself with integrity and grace for 70 years now (just like me!) and we should all look forward to acknowledging her magnificent service."He then recalled an occasion where he had been invited to perform a couple of his songs for the Queen as part of a charity event, which he gladly accepted.
