Motherwell have handed new boss Stevie Hammell additional cash to tempt Robert Snodgrass and chase multiple further targets ahead of the transfer deadline.
The Steelmen have already sent a proposal to the 34-year-old free agent and are also interested in making three or four more signings before the window closes.
Snodgrass met Hammell and officials from Fir Park earlier this week and they put a one-year contract on the table before he returned to England to consider his next move.
The highly-experienced Scotland cap, formerly of West Ham United and Leeds among others, has been without a club since snubbing an offer to remain at Luton Town on reduced terms.
