Motherwell chief executive Alan Burrows has failed in a bid to move kick-off time for their Premier Sports Cup quarter-final clash next month, after raising concerns over an early-evening kick-off.The Fir Park clash against cup holders Celtic has been confirmed to take place on Wednesday, October 19, at 6.15pm, and will be broadcast live on the sponsors' channel.Burrows issued a statement on the Motherwell FC website which says: "Both Motherwell FC and Celtic FC raised concerns around the kick-off time based on the difficulties it will present to supporters wishing to attend the match."We asked the broadcaster to consider having the two live matches scheduled for that day [Rangers v Dundee is the other one] run simultaneously on different channels."However, we have been informed that this is not possible due to other contractual commitments and no other arrangements are possible."Whilst we are extremely keen to work with our broadcast partners and commercial sponsors to ensure they get maximum value for their investment in Scottish football, it's a far from ideal scenario for fans of both clubs."We have been reassured that the circumstances surrounding this particular scheduling are extremely rare and unlikely to happen again."The Fir Park club says ticket prices will be confirmed and announced in due course.Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
