A woman has passed away in hospital after she suffered serious head injuries following a fall at a Robbie Williams concert in Sydney last Thursday.
The woman, who was in her 70s, fell down six rows of seats during the show and was rushed to St Vincent's Hospital, where she passed away on Tuesday afternoon. The tragedy occurred at the end of the concert as attendees exited the stadium, and it is believed that the woman had attempted to climb over a number of rows of seats when she stumbled and fell.
Paramedics were quickly called to the scene at 10.15pm. A spokesperson for New South Wales Ambulance has released a statement, which read: "We were called in to reports of a woman in her 70s who had fallen. "We treated her on scene to injuries to her face and head and took her to St Vincent's Hospital in a critical condition." And spokesman for Venues NSW, which operates Allianz Stadium, told The Sydney Morning Herald: "Rather than use stairs, the woman attempted to step over seating rows.
She lost her footing and fell. "This is a terribly sad incident and our thoughts and wishes are with the patron and their family during this time." It comes after a fan tragically passed away ahead of a Taylor Swift concert in Brazil.
