Road closed after unmarked GMP car involved in crash with officer rushed to hospital

Two officers have been injured after a crash involving an unmarked Greater Manchester Police car. Rochdale Road, in Blackley, has been closed in both directions this morning (May 29) following the crash involving an unmarked GMP car and a Mercedes-Benz.

The collision took place while the GMP car was carrying out a three-point turn. One of the officers has been taken to hospital, and the extent of their injuries is yet to be confirmed.

Firefighters and paramedics were called out to the scene at around 5.35am. One casualty was cut from a vehicle, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said. The incident has taken place near to Boggart Hole Clough, which has been cordoned off for the Stuart Everett murder investigation searches for almost two weeks.
