A road in Manchester city centre was blocked off on Monday afternoon (May 22) after a car was left crushed in a smash. Police attended the scene at the Great Bridgewater Street and Albion Street junction after the two-car crash, with the busy road blocked off for a short while.
Pictures from the scene show a black Skoda with a badly damaged bonnet as officers remained stationed at the scene. Cars and buses were diverted away from the area after the collision. Stagecoach tweeted: "Diversion heading towards Manchester Whitworth Street West, Oxford Street and Portland Street. This is due to a police incident on Great Bridgewater Street/Albion Street junction.
Stops on Great Bridgewater Street will not be served."
