Rio Ferdinand was left in awe by Bailey Rice as he praised the Rangers kid for 'seeing pictures' in his play. The youngster was summoned from the bench for the second half in the huge Europa League Battle of Britain clash with Manchester United after Connor Barron was forced off as one of two injuries in the opening 45 minutes alongside Leon Balogun.
Highly-rated Bailey took to the famous Old Trafford turf and his performance caught the eye of the former England superstar. He showed his vision to pick out Cyriel Dessers with a pass that ended with the striker clipping the outside of the post and that had Rio gushing in commentary duties.
He said: "I'll tell you what. I like Rice. He's come on and looking composed and that left foot looks like it has a bit in it.
He's seeing pictures, playing and executing. That is a wonderful pass."He wasn't the only Rangers star he waxed lyrical over as an unseen moment involving skipper James Tavernier earned top praise.
