Rangers reportedly made a late bid in the window to sign one-time Manchester United starlet Omari Forson – but were told 'no' by his new club Monza. It was a quiet deadline day at Ibrox where the departures of Rabbi Matondo and Kieran Dowell were as exciting as it got.

Those two exits cleared £50,000 off Philippe Clement's wage bill and it's understood Rangers chiefs did consider options to add to the squad late in the window, but the right players ultimately weren't available within budget.

One of those, it's reported in Italy, was rising star Forson. The winger, once highly rated by Erik ten Hag, left United for Italy in the summer but has struggled for game time since.

He's capped by England up to U20 level and played seven times for the Old Trafford club, including four appearances in the Premier League towards the end of the 2023/24 season.
