Manchester City fans have named the club’s 1984-86 striped black and red kit as the club’s most iconic away strip. As proud partners of Shelter’s #NoHomeKit campaign, we asked City fans to have their say on the club’s most iconic away kits.
There was a runaway winner, with the 1984-86 kit, made by Umbro and sponsored by Philips, coming top with 43 per cent of the vote.
It’s easy to see why fans love the kit - it’s similar to the club’s 1969 FA Cup-winning strip and was also what City wore the season they won promotion from Division Two.
