St Mirren defender Conor McCarthy believes the club’s semi-final loss to St Johnstone summed up their season. The Buddies created plenty of chances yesterday afternoon at Hampden but didn’t capitalise on them, with the Perthshire Saints going on to notch two crucial goals in the space of three minutes.
McCarthy did manage to pull one back to give his side a glimmer of hope, but in the end it was another case of what could have been for the Paisley side.
