Arnold Harrison was last seen at 10.30am yesterday (May 23) in the Turton area of the town. His car was found parked on Green Arms Road, near to the A666, and his family desperately started searching for the 78-year-old.

It is believed he had gone walking around the Entwistle reservoir close to the border with Darwen. Police issued a missing persons appeal this morning to help find Mr Harrison.

Fire crews, and a search dog team from Lancashire Fire and Rescue, were also called out to the area to help find the pensioner.
