One neighbour just outside the cordon described a 'dead loud' party happening in the early hours of the morning. Another who was visiting a friend who lived on the road described hearing a party starting late last night and carrying on into the early hours before seeing police at the scene.

They said: "There's a lot of kids living around here. Hearing a loud party turning into an incident like this is not nice at all." Police confirmed to the Manchester Evening News that they were called around 2.25am to reports of a 'disturbance' at a property on Royal George Street.
