Three properties have been evacuated in Stirling after a wall in a city street collapsed – crushing a car.Stirling Council says it was alerted to the incident in Harvey Wynd shortly after 7.30am on Thursday, December 5.Specialist officers from the council’s roads service were sent to the location and made the area safe.Officers from Police Scotland were also in attendance.
Three cars were damaged by the collapse – including one crushed under piles of rubble.A spokesperson for Stirling Council said: “A footpath has been closed at the location and a safety exclusion zone set up.
A full structural assessment is being undertaken by engineers to establish the extent of the damage and the required repairs.“Residents from three properties on Harvey Wynd have been evacuated and are being supported with alternative accommodation needs."The street is located just a short distance away from historic Stirling Castle.
It remains unclear what caused the collapse and it's understood that nobody was hurt in the incident.The section affected sits directly in front of a number of residential properties in the street.Police attended the scene to manage traffic control on the narrow street and implemented road closures before being stood down.
