My husband does this," while another echoed this advice, writing: "I use dishwashing powder in mugs with hot water and leave overnight so that should work for your flask too."A standard pack of 40 dishwasher tablets costs £3.65 in Tesco, which breaks down to just nine pence per tablet.

The woman who originally asked for help decided to take their advice and was happy with the outcome.Writing a follow up comment, she said: "Excellent results, I used half a dishwasher tablet & left it for about 12 hours.
