RBS and NatWest to cut over 500 full-time jobs through voluntary redundancy

unemployment continues to rise across the UK, it has been announced that 550 roles are to go at Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and NatWest branches.

The company said it had received sufficient applications for voluntary redundancy and does not need to make any compulsory cuts.

Around 550 full-time roles will be lost across the branches and its premier banking arm, with branch managers, premier banking managers and personal bankers among those affected.

In a statement NatWest said: "We have to respond to changing customer behaviour and the rising customer demand for digital banking services."We have taken the decision to invite applications for voluntary redundancy and will support those colleagues who apply with a comprehensive support.
