RB Leipzig chief Olivier Mintzlaff name-checked Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp in an update on Timo Werner’s future. The German has been linked with a move to Anfield since the January transfer window.
With 27 goals this season for Leipzig, the 24-year-old is seen as strong competition for the current front-three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
But the German side’s chief gave a direct update about Liverpool’s position on the forward as well as competitors Bayern Munich.
Speaking to German outlet General-Anzeiger, Mintzlaff said: “Neither Jurgen Klopp nor Karl-Heinz Rummenigge contacted me. “We are happy that we were able to extend the contract with him until 2023.
