dailyrecord.co.ukToiling Genk have revealed their shaky Champions League 1-1 draw against Servette in Switzerland was due to a tummy bug which ripped its way through the first team.And confident boss Wouter Vrancken is adamant his side will be back to their best in the return leg as the plucky Swiss side earned a draw which their efforts deserved with both duking it out to face Rangers.
Tulu Arokadare got the visitors off to the perfect start in the 21st minute of the second round qualifier, however, the Belgian side slowed and the hosts ramped up the heat in the second half.
They got their leveller through Steve Roullier in the 77th minute and pushed for a winner. But Vrancken is adamant the side which finished the game were a pale imitation of Genk in their pomp.
And he is hopeful their fortunes will change in the coming days. Speaking after the game, he said: "Bilal El Khannouss, Patrick Hrosovsky and Bryan Heynen were still very sick this afternoon.
