Rangers are on the verge of completing a double swoop for Danilo and Jose Cifuentes. Record Sport revealed on Monday Feyenoord had all but accepted a ‘take-it-or-leave-it’ final offer worth around £6million – plus add-ons and bonuses – for Brazilian striker Danilo after a last ditch bid was tabled on Sunday.

That deal was being rubber-stamped on Tuesday to make Danilo one of the club’s highest earners and the 24-year-old is now expected to undergo a medical before signing on the dotted line.

And midfielder Cifuentes is also expected in Glasgow before the end of the week after another round of positive talks between Ibrox chief executive James Bisgrove and MLS outfit Los Angeles FC as the clubs edge closer to thrashing out a financial settlement which will allow the Ecuadorian to make the move now rather than wait six months to leave as a free agent.Rangers are looking to close a deal of just over £1m to sign Cifuentes.

The Danilo transfer had threatened to collapse towards the end of last week when Rangers had a third bid booted into touch by the Eredivisie champions - but Bisgrove wasn’t ready to take no for an answer for a player manager Michael Beale has identified as a key component to his attacking options ahead of the new season.
