A raging Kilmarnock resident has fumed at streets overgrown with weeds and covered in dog poo.The man, who wished to remain anonymous, has questioned with the town's civic pride is after he snapped pictures of pavements overrun with weeds and waste on the town's Glebe Road and Mackinlay Place. The fed-up resident claims he made multiple complaints to the East Ayrshire Council over the summer but his pleas fell on deaf ears.

The two streets in question, along with Manse Street and Arbuckle Street were four routes that were missed during Ayrshire Roads Alliance planned August clean-up, the council has admitted. The resident said: "It's absolutely awful, the pavements are overgrown with weeds and covered in dog poo.

I've reported this many times to the council for months they still aren't doing anything about it. "During the last heatwave, an 80-year-old lady and her neighbour were out weeding a roundabout.

It's a nonsense that members of the public are doing these jobs out of civic pride. "I've been here eight-years and the area has rapidly gone downhill over the years."We pay our council tax the same as anyone else but we seem to get nothing back. "It's not nice having to live in an area that's neglected - it's bad for our mental health."I have removed the weeds from the pavement and roadway outside my own property but there are many elderly people who are not fit enough to do likewise. "I honestly can't remember a time when the town has been so poorly cared for.
