Care home chiefs have called on the Government to speed up the vaccine roll-out for staff after Boris Johnson admitted there had been a problem with take-up.
Ministers were warned there was a “big, big task” to get thousands more care home workers the jab within the next two weeks.
And they are under pressure to give second doses to residents so they can have visitors. The Alzheimer’s Society warned the 12-week wait for the follow-up jab was “unacceptable” for those “dying of loneliness” because they cannot see loved-ones.
The Government says it reached a “crucial milestone” by offering almost all care home residents a first jab by the end of January.
