Barbie or Oppenheimer? Barm or muffin? Liam or Noel? Mancunians can now have their say on some of the most divisive subjects in the city - by throwing their rubbish in a bin.

Non-smokers felt a bit left out when novel 'Ballot Bins' were installed for cigarette butts in Ancoats earlier this year. But the quirky bins have proved so popular that new, 'Big Ballot Bins' have been installed in the city centre, giving passers by the chance to vote with their rubbish.

Like the earlier bins for cigarette butts, it's hoped the new additions to the city will help tackle litter.
