The Queen's army has had a scary "security breach" after a man managed to get past the Ministry of Defence just yards from Windsor Castle, according to reports.The Sun reports that the imposter was said to have pretended he was a "priest" and stayed on the Victoria Barracks over the Easter holidays, close to the Queen's residence.
Soldiers on base are reported to have allowed the mystery man to stay, because he also claimed to be a friend of the padre to the Coldstream Guards.
While the man reportedly didn't identify himself with any official credentials, the soldiers are claimed to have believed his story, and even spent an evening drinking with him before offering the man a place to sleep on the grounds.
It's reported that the alarm was only raised the following morning after he had had breakfast. "The guy turned up at the gate in the evening and said his name was Father Cruise and claimed to be a friend of the battalion's Padre Rev Matt Coles.
