Queen received 'inappropriate' wedding present - and strangely practical gift

What do you buy a member of the Royal Family on their wedding day? You know they're going to get thousands of presents, so you need to be a bit creative if you want to avoid sending the 367th gravy boat they unwrap.

Luckily, royal fans got creative when the then Princess Elizabeth married Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark at Westminster Abbey on November 20, 1947.

The couple were sent 2,583 presents to mark their special day, and some of them were very unusual. As well as the normal wedding presents, many people clearly tried to think outside the box.

Alexander Armstrong went through the full list for ITV documentary A Very Royal Wedding, and he was very amused by some of the gifts.
