The Queen has finally met her great-granddaughter Lilibet for the first time, two days before her birthday, as her mum and dad, Prince Harry and Meghan reunited with the Royal Family on Jubilee weekend.
Royal commentator Omid Scobie, one of the authors of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s biography Finding Freedom, shared details of the low-key introduction during a TV appearance this morning.
Scobie claimed that last night would have been the first time the 96-year-old would have met her namesake, in the flesh. The news broke as the Queen celebrates the second day of her Platinum Jubilee today, with the highlight a service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral attended by senior royals and politicians.
