Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.
Queen Elizabeth has made her first in-person audience since her son Prince Andrew settled his sexual assault lawsuit outside of court.The monarch, 95, already had the date for the official engagement set in her dairy before it was announced the Duke of York had settled with Virginia Roberts.
Her Majesty met with met the incoming Defence Services Secretary Major General Eldon Millar, and his predecessor Rear Admiral James Macleod at Windsor Castle on Wednesday 16 February.
She was seen in a blue and pink floral dress and a set of pearls around her neck as she met with the Defence Service officials.
The Queen also held onto a walking stick as she stood speaking with the two men at Windsor. Her Royal Highness' Twitter account shared a photo from the meeting and wrote: "Today at Windsor Castle, Rear Admiral James Macleod was received by The Queen upon relinquishing his appointment as Defence Services Secretary.
