Fans of the hit Netflix series The Crown will recognise Lord Porchester, or 'Porchie'. For those needing a refresher, he was one of The Queen's closest friends and served as her racing manager.
So how was he connected to Downton Abbey? He lived in and owned Highclere Castle, the primary filming location for the series, when he became the 7th Earl of Carnarvon when his father died.
