Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is the 45th and current president of the United States. Before entering politics, he was a businessman and television personality. Trump was born and raised in the New York City borough of Queens, and received a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School. He took charge of his family's real-estate business in 1971, renamed it The Trump Organization, and expanded its operations from Queens and Brooklyn into Manhattan.
The company built or renovated skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. Trump later started various side ventures, mostly by licensing his name. He owned the Miss Universe and Miss USA beauty pageants from 1996 to 2015, and produced and hosted The Apprentice, a reality television show, from 2003 to 2015. Forbes estimates his net worth to be $3.1 billion.
QEUH doctor told to ‘pipe down’ after trying to flag concerns, inquiry hears
dailyrecord.co.ukA microbiologist was advised to "pipe down" by a senior colleague after attempting to flag problems at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) currently at the centre of infection concerns.The Scottish Hospitals Inquiry has been told that Dr Christine Peters, who started work as a consultant microbiologist at the hospital in 2014, was advised she would "make things difficult" for herself if she kept flagging concerns.
On Wednesday, September 11, she told the inquiry, she could not remain silent: "I just can’t get my head around that idea at all.
I think you’ve got a duty to patients, whatever you know, you’ve to act in their best interest.”Dr Peters told the inquiry, being chaired by Lord Brodie KC, she was first aware of issues at QUEH in October 2014.The inquiry heard that in the ensuing months she raised numerous concerns about patient safety issues, including around the air ventilation system, the design of sinks, and the suitability of wards intended for patients undergoing bone marrow transplants.
However, she said she was frustrated by a dysfunctional management culture that failed to take her concerns seriously or to respond with urgency.
