A pub ordered to pull down an outdoor tepee used for wedding celebrations and other functions has applied for an 18-month extension to 'honour bookings'.
Last September, Thwaites brewery, who operate the Eagle and Child pub on Whalley Road, Ramsbottom, were told the 72-person capacity tepee at the rear of the pub would not be given retrospective planning permission.
The structure was built without being authorised by Bury Council during the Covid pandemic and has been in operation ever since, hosting smaller wedding celebrations and other events.
The council turned down plans to retain it on the issues of the generation of traffic and noise. Last month, a planning meeting at Bury town hall heard from head of development at the council, David Marno.
