Busy city streets were locked down today after a fire in a gas main just yards from a football stadium. The drama unfolded in Glasgow's Maryhill area this morning.Several streets around Partick Thistle's Firhill Stadium were affected as a result of the blaze, as police officers and firefighters tried to make the area safe.
Video footage showed flames several foot high coming from the gas main, outside S&H Barbers, QX Fast Food and the Mini Market store on Maryhill Road.
The street was closed off, with drivers advised to take alternative routes.
